Neighborhood Library Campaign

Create lifelong learners.

Strong library systems close gaps in community services for people who need them most.

That’s why the Wichita Library Foundation has launched our Neighborhood Library Campaign in partnership with the City of Wichita to fund $12.6 million of facility and equipment needs at four neighborhood libraries across Wichita.

We need your help to raise $2 million towards that goal to ensure the library will have resources to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our community.

These improvements are underway at Alford, Angelou, Rockwell and Westlink branches, and will increase literacy and provide reading-rich resources and opportunities to everyone in Wichita.

Alford Branch

The project improves the layout of the library and adds new study and meeting spaces.

Angelou Branch

The project adds a sunroom, updates the community meeting space, and adds a study room.

Rockwell Branch

The project renovates the entire location, expands and adds meeting and study spaces, and adds a drive-up window.

Westlink Branch

The project doubles the size of the location with added community meeting rooms, an expanded children’s room, a new teen area, and an automated materials handler for book returns.

Highlights of the branch remodels include:

As a mama, I love that our kiddos have endless choices for reading materials and activities. As a teacher, I love that I can find multiple books on any subject. We love the librarians that take time to get to know us with a smile! Keep up the great work!”
